Legs, Tea and Cakes

Hello Everyone!!!!!!

Sorry that it has been a while since I have posted anything. Life has been crazy. Since my last post where I did a big health update while waiting to find out what was going on inside my leg, I have found some answers and found another passion.

My Leg:

So I got to FINALLY see the Orthopedic Surgeon on January 31st! Well, let's be honest, it wasn't actually the Ortho surgeon but a resident who was working there.  He took a look at my knee and had some fun pulling my leg in every direction that it could go, as some directions that it couldn't. After looking at it he determined that....wait for it.....I needed to get an MRI! I know, Big Shock. (If you have been following my blog then you know that I knew i needed an MRI since basically October) So, he sent me on my way with a work order to get an MRI done. We scheduled the MRI that day with the Ortho office and also scheduled a follow up appointment. So now i have to wait 2 weeks to get my MRI. Oh, he did give me a Rx for some steroids to help with the pain and also a work order or Rx for compression sock to combat the swelling in both legs and ankles. Let just take a moment to tell you about these socks. So basically the best way i can describe them is that when I am wearing them I feel like the old piano teacher in a pleated skirt that isn't long enough to cover the tops of my knee high tights. I know you can imagine this.  So I took the course of steroids a total of like 20 pills or so in one week. they helped immensely on the second day of taking them. I can not even explain how wonderful it felt to be able to walk without a limp. sadly, because i had no pain, I way overdid and paid for it dearly the next day. So fast forward to Valentine's Day bright and early in the morning, Adam takes me to the hospital to get my MRI. This was not a pleasant experience. I am not good at laying flat on my back. Every time I do, it feels like my spine is being crushed. but here I am laying on a flat table to get my MRI which "should take about a half hour". Yeah.    Okay.     So long story short, the table didn't work correctly and they needed help getting it to slide into the machine. The computer broke down and needed restarted. and i was there, laying on that table, for an hour and a half. I was certainly Not Happy and took the rest of that day off because, I couldn't stand because of my back. We went back to the Ortho surgeon and actually got to meet the surgeon guy on February 20th. Finally some answers! So I do not have torn meniscus! Which means I don't have to have surgery! I have a deformity in my leg that causes my knee cap to shift to the outside area of my knee slightly. Basically the groove that my kneecap should be sliding in, it slides on the outer ridge causing the cartilage to fray and accelerate arthritis. Because if this, my MCL has stretched, causing most of my pain. So the doctor is going to have me go to physical therapy, has prescribed more pills, I am getting a fitting for a j brace for my knee and gave me a shot of cortisone to my knee! That Cortisone did wonders for my knee! It felt like a new lease on life! no more limping around. No more crutches. No more pain!!!!Until recently when i started physical therapy but i guess that is to be expected????So there is the update with my leg!

Tea Party:

So in February I hosted the Valentine tea party for HP Ohio! we had such a great time and had a packed house once again! everyone had their own valentines bags filled with valentines that everybody brought.  We enjoyed some magical food and amazing teas! we also played games and some people won prizes! It really was a great day!

Cakes: The day before the tea Party some friends of mine threw a Galentines Party and I decided that I wanted to bake a cake for it. But not your average cake, Oh no. I have been super addicted to watching How to Cake It on YouTube so it had to be something amazing! It took a very long time to make but boy was it worth it! It tasted so delicious and looked incredible!!!!!!!

Yes, That is in fact a cake. Shaped like a chip bowl. This cake was chocolate with American Butter cream and covered in homemade Marshmallow fondant. the "dip" part is more buttercream and the potato chips are real potato chips, some of them dipped in chocolate.

So this is it for now. hopefully my next update will come sooner.
